Monumental heritage

The most representative monumental complexes of the ancient period in the vicinity of Prilep are the sites: "Bedem," "Gradishte", "Bezisten" and the remains of the ancient cities Stibera, Alkomena, Keramija and Kolobansa.

The most famous churches and monasteries from the Middle Age are: Sv.Arhangel Mihail (St. Archangel Michael) (11-14 century), Sv.Petar i Pavle (Ss. Peter and Paul) (14th century), Sv.Nikola (St. Nicholas) (12-13 century), St. Atanas (14th century), Sv.Prechista Bogorodica (St. Virgin Mary) (14 15 century), Sv.Uspenie bogorodichno (St. Assumption of Mary) (14-17 century), Sv.Preobrazdenie (Holy Transfiguration) (14-17 century), the medieval city "Marko's Towers" and other.

In the 19th century in Prilep, a trade center was established, the famous Old Bazaar, while interesting monumental landmarks are: Clock Tower (1858), the church Holy Transfiguration (1868) and others.
